The second season of Soy Luna was officially confirmed by the cast and Disney Channel Latin America on June 7, 2016.[1][2] Previously, it was falsely confirmed by sources in January, before the first season started airing.[3] The new season features new stories, new characters, and new music. Filming started on June 21, 2016 at the Estudios Baires in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and ended on February 4, 2017.[4][5][6] The new season was set to air in February of 2017, however, the air date was moved back to April 17, 2017.[7][8]
Additional scenes for the last few episodes set in Cancún were filmed in May 2017, back-to-back with the Season 3 opener.[9]
